KPls.help me understand about my ultrasound report; The uterus is midposition with regular contour and homogenous myometrium. There are no myometrial masses seen. The cervix is closed and homogeneous. The endometrium is isoechoic with intact endomyometrial interface. The right ovary is lateral to the uterus and contains more than 12 mostly subcapsular follicles measuring less than 1.0 cm.in diameter with dense stroma. The left ovary is anterolateral to the uterus and contains more than 12 randomly distributed follicles measuring less than 1.0 cm. in diameter. There are no adnexal masses seen. There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
IMPRESSION
Normal -sized Midline Uterus Intact Isoechoic Endometrium Multicystic bilateral Ovaries No- Adnexal Masses seen in this scan No Cul-De-Sac Fluid
1.Your ultrasound report says the ovaries shows features of PCOD - polycystic ovarian disease. 2.In PCOD - multiple peripherally arranged follicles with central echo-genic storm. 3.The symptoms include irregular periods, weight gain, facial hair growth and the common symptoms seen, if any one of them seen, treatment is necessary. 4.The treatment in this case include hormonal treatment. 5.Rest of the scan appears normal - the uterus, cervix, endometrium, adnexa.
